“The man they describe is not the one I knew”: Claire Chazal defends PPDA heavily accused

Since last February, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor has been the subject of very serious accusations from women, including the writer Florence Porcel, who multiply the testimonies against him. While a first investigation ultimately ended in a dismissal, the judicial machine was relaunched in November 2021 through complaints from new women, who provided precise, raw and sordid details … Claire Chazal , ex-partner of PPDA, was again questioned on the subject.

Guest Thursday, December 16 in the show Instant M of France Inter, to discuss the next issue of Grand Chessboard, Claire Chazal has obviously not escaped questions about the accusations against Patrick Poivre d’Arvor. The newspaper Release gave the floor to several complainants, including the novelist Amandine Cornette de Saint Cyr. “I would not question the words of these women in any way. I have no way of doing it and if they feel they have to speak today, and be able to do it which was not necessarily the case before, maybe it is progress. And in any case any word is admissible (…) The man they describe is not the one I have known personally and professionally. The one that I knew undoubtedly liked to seduce and convince“, she reacted.

This is not the first time that Claire Chazal – who had a son, François, with PPDA – highlights the “seductive” side of the former TF1 journalist. And, if she had confided to having lived painfully the first accusations brought against him, today she brings a bell that rings like support for the father of her son. “He especially liked to convince them and not to force them (…) He is a very great journalist whom I have always admired, I believe that we had more or less the same way of presenting the newspaper, the same conception, the same appetite for culture, the same desire to discover others, the same intellectual curiosity“, she added.

Patrick Poivre d’Arvor remains presumed innocent of the charges until the final judgment of this case.
