The 24-year-old man, suspected of having strangled and then sexually assaulted a jogger on Thursday May 5 in Revel (Haute-Garonne), was indicted for “sexual assault” and “attempted homicide” this Sunday, reports France Blue Occitania.
After 48 hours in police custody, he was remanded to Albi remand center. Arrested on Friday, he admitted the facts while in police custody.
The 22-year-old victim was running along a green lane on Thursday when the assailant who was riding a bicycle got in the way. She was strangled unconscious and then the man dragged her into the bushes and sexually assaulted her.
According to the Toulouse prosecutor’s office, the young woman had been helped by a woman walking her dog.
