Discussions on the purchasing power bill are struggling to move forward in the National Assembly. While the deputies of the National Rally and those of rebellious France regularly throw spades at each other, the majority tries to get out of the game.

These are long nights of discussions that await the deputies of the majority. While article 1 of the purchasing power bill has just been voted, the atmosphere remains electric in the ranks of the hemicycle. At the center of the tensions, the deputies RN and LFI are opposed frontally. Repeated quarrels that annoy on the side of the majority. “They are always looking to make hits. Five years is going to be a long time”exasperated a leader of the majority.

To advance the debates, the government would be ready to make concessions on certain subjects, such as the increase in tax-exempt overtime, the amount of meal tickets or even the fuel allowance extended to the middle classes. But despite the tensions within the hemicycle, the government fears an alliance of oppositions, which could adopt measures against the presidential majority, such as a tax on superprofits for example. “We have to be very vigilant”, we breathe on the side of the majority. The next few weeks will be crucial for the various parties, with the focus on August 7, when the purchasing power bill is expected to pass.
