The situation remains confused, Monday, October 25, in Sudan. The Ministry of Information announced that most ministers and civilian members of the Sovereignty Council overseeing the transition in Sudan have been arrested. In its statement, the ministry did not specify whether Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok was among the leaders arrested, after media reported that he had been placed under house arrest.

Demonstrators began to gather on Monday morning in the streets of Khartoum to protest the arrests by unidentified armed men. But since October 16, 2021, several hundred people have set up tents in front of the presidential palace to demand the departure of Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok and the establishment of a “military government“.

The Association of Professionals, one of the spearheads of the revolt that in 2019 ended 30 years of dictatorship by President Omar al-Bashir, on Monday called on the Sudanese to “disobedience” facing a “Rebellion”. This coordination launched its appeal on Twitter despite the fact that the internet is cut across the country.
