It was a fabricated affair, but it led to the dismissal of three Renault executives. The Renault “false spies” affair reached its epilogue on Thursday March 7, with the main defendant being sentenced to three years in prison, including one year in prison. The Paris criminal court found Dominique Gevrey guilty of fraud and attempted fraud. At 65, this former officer of the Defense Protection and Security Directorate (DSPD) had converted to private security and was recruited by Renault within the group protection directorate (DPG) .

The former soldier, who will be able to serve his sentence under an electronic bracelet, will also have to pay a fine of 40,000 euros. The court also permanently banned him from exercising professional activity in the field of security and intelligence. A sum of 65,000 euros was seized by the courts from his account in Switzerland and Dominique Gevrey will also have to pay the car manufacturer more than 318,000 euros (the amount he had defrauded) for the material damage suffered by the firm .

The two other defendants, Marc Tixador and Michel Luc, one tried for concealment of violation of professional secrecy and the other for complicity in fraud and attempted fraud, were respectively sentenced to eighteen months in prison with suspended sentence and 20,000 euros fine and six months suspended prison sentence and 5,000 euros fine.
