The third edition of the Made In Elsass show in Sélestat welcomes from Friday February 18 to Sunday February 20 85 exhibitors from all over Alsace to present their products and reconnect with local customers, after two years of postponements and cancellations.
Customer loyalty
More than a godsend, the sinews of war. To sell her very high-end duvets and pillows in linen and wool made in Zimmerbach, Stéphanie Pétuya needs events like Made In Elsass to meet your customers : “It gives me visibility because at home I only have my workshop. My sales space is the exhibitions. I show myself regularly like that people think of me”. Beyond meeting potential customers, this Alsatian entrepreneur also takes the opportunity to get some air and meet other Alsatian artisans.

The Brasserie du Vignoble, in Riquewihr, does not rely so much on the sales made during the show as on the reputation gained with visitors. “It’s not necessarily the biggest gain in hard currency, confirms brewer Jérôme Schwartz, but the indirect impact is significant. If the products appeal to visitors, they will be found a little later on the terrace in Riquewihr. We need it”.
Fallout Im Elsass
“Local consumption has many virtues, in terms of the economy, assures Nicolas Morvan, the director of Made In Elsass, at the level of turnover because for some this type of event represents a significant part of their activity. Coming back to the show to be in contact with consumers again has a real impact on their business. It was also lacking in terms of employment. Taxation, because when you consume local, it does not go into tax evasion, it also pays for public service. In terms of the environment, it limits the traffic of goods. So we have a real impact when we consume local.” The former journalist hopes for attendance at least as good as the 2019 and 2020 editions: 6,500 visitors over the weekend.
