“The Macronists have lost their compass a long time ago”, denounces Saturday June 22 on France Inter Marine Tondelier, national secretary of Ecologists. During the campaign for the legislative elections, the presidential camp is placing the “two extreme blocs” back to back, as Gabriel Attal described for example on Friday.
With this strategy, which Marine Tondelier describes as “deleterious”the macronists “are the opposite of history, we are the enemy, we are the scapegoats”, she points out. According to her, they have “lost all historical landmarks” And “made themselves the stepping stone of the extreme right”. “I am counting on the people of the left and ecology to take up the torch, we are ready”she assures.
Asked about her positioning in the event of a triangular in the second round of the legislative elections, Marine Tondelier assures that she has not “never had any hesitation” about withdrawing if it would prevent the far-right candidate from winning. “It was very instinctive each time for me and it will continue to be so for ecologists and I imagine the Popular Front”she declares. “I don’t see any reason to do otherwise.”she indicates, without however clearly calling on the left-wing candidates to withdraw if they come in third position at the end of the first round.
Concerning the person who will occupy the post of Prime Minister in the event of a victory for the left, Marine Tondelier underlines that among the Ecologists, “the logic is to say what is the right composite portrait for the position”. It presents several criteria: “A person who has the experience and skills”, “attached to the program of our coalition”, “someone who knows how to bring people together” And “someone who is supported by all the components of the New Popular Front, someone who unites”.
She regfinally waits that we “do not speak a lot” ecology during the campaign. “But in the Popular Front program, there are steps that have been taken, which are historic environmentalist struggles and which have moved many environmentalists”she says, citing for example the desire to decree a moratorium on all new highway projects and another on mega-basin projects.
