The LPHF will hold a tour that will stop in three arenas

(Toronto) The Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF) will organize a promotional tour that will stop at three NHL arenas on the weekend of March 16 and 17.


Montreal will close out this weekend by facing Toronto at PPG Paints Arena, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins, on Sunday, March 17 at 12:30 p.m.

New York and Minnesota will kick off the weekend’s activities by crossing swords at the Xcel Energy Center, the Minnesota Wild’s arena, on Saturday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. This duel will be followed by the match between Boston and Ottawa at Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Red Wings, at 6 p.m.

“Hosting these games in three exceptional arenas during Women’s History Month will create an unforgettable moment in this inaugural season of the LPHF,” said Jayna Hefford, senior vice-president of hockey operations for the league. On February 17, 2019, Little Caesars Arena hosted the third game of the first performance of the Rivalry Series between the Canadian and United States women’s hockey teams. Ten players from this game will be back. Canada triumphed 2-0 in front of a crowd of 9,048 spectators.

On March 12, 2022, PPG Paints Arena played host to a rematch of the rivalry, hosted by the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association. The Canadians defeated the Americans 3-2 in overtime in front of 5,410 spectators.

Montreal currently ranks first in the LPHF general rankings with 17 points.
