The long list of Canada’s Best New Restaurants unveiled

The magazine on the waypowered by Air Canada, has announced the return of its famous top 10 Best New Canadian Restaurants, which had been suspended during the pandemic.

The airline revealed this week the 30 finalists from coast to coast who can dream of making the short list of the winners and maybe even enthroning themselves at the top.

It was an anonymous gastronomic critic who traveled the country to taste the creations of new establishments from all walks of life – open between the end of spring 2021 and May 31, 2022 – who determined those in the running.

Finalists are in eight provinces and 15 Canadian cities, from Tofino to St. John’s, North Saanich, Vancouver, Kimberley, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax.

Montreal cut a fine figure there with five quotes: Mastard, Pichai, J’ai Feng, Gia Vin & Grill and Mokili. In addition, for the province of Quebec, there is the table champêtre Parcelles, in Austin, as well as Le Clan and the Restaurant Alentours, in Quebec. The top 10 will be unveiled on November 1, at a gala to be held in Toronto.
