Three departments are placed on orange “snow-ice” vigilance during the night of Tuesday March 26 to Wednesday March 27, Météo-France announces. This alert takes effect at midnight and lasts until 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The rain-snow limit will drop to around 600 meters overnight. Météo-France expects falls of 10 cm of snow in Puy-en-Velay (Haute-Loire) and 20 cm on the plateaus at 1,000 m altitude. In the Loire and Isère, snowfall could occur above 400 m, and thus affect the Saint-Etienne area. Météo-France predicts snow “heavy and sticky”.
