The Loire and Haute-Loire will be placed in orange “snow-ice” vigilance from Sunday 6 a.m., Météo-France announces in a vigilance bulletin published Saturday March 2. “A new disturbance is approaching the northwest of the country this Saturday morning. It will slowly move eastward over the weekend with a spectacular lowering of the rain/snow limit on Sunday,” explains the weather and climate service.
Snow is expected at lower altitudes, “up to approximately 600 meters”. The expected quantities “are of the order of 5 to 10 centimeters at 600 to 800 meters altitude, 20 locally 30 centimeters at 1000 meters”. The orange alert is expected to end at noon.
