The Little One and the Old Man premieres at the Locarno Film Festival

The film The Little One and the Old One will be presented at the Locarno Festival in Switzerland on August 16. At the same time, the production unveiled the poster and trailer for the feature film on Wednesday.

Directed by Patrice Sauvé, written by Sébastien Girard based on the best-selling novel by author Marie-Renée Lavoie, published in 2010, and finalist for the Grand Prix du public Archambault and the Prix France-Québec, The Little One and the Old One stars Gildor Roy, Vincent-Guillaume Otis and Marilyn Castonguay.

For the first time on screen, we find the young Quebecer, Juliette Bharucha in the role of Hélène, a child who calls herself Jo, because she wants to be like Joséphine La Petite Mousquetaire, her favorite “manga” cartoon heroine.

Actor Gildor Roy is part of the cast of Patrice Sauvé’s next film.

“Jo is only 10 years old, has three sisters, a father who is very busy being unhappy (Vincent-Guillaume Otis) and an understanding but strict mother (Marilyn Castonguay). She lives in a working-class neighborhood populated by colorful people, the most endearing of whom is her new neighbor, Monsieur Roger, a gruff old man who hides a tender heart (Gildor Roy),” summarizes the synopsis.

The feature film by Patrice Sauvé (Life, life, Victor Lessard, It smells like a cut) will be released in theaters across Quebec on October 4.
