The Lightning defeats the Capitals 3-2

(Tampa) Anthony Cirelli had one goal and two assists, guiding the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Monday night.

Alex Killorn and Brayden Point also hit the target for the Lightning. Taylor Raddysh had a career first point in the NHL.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 31 saves, including a few beautiful ones, in front of the cage of the Floridian troop.

Brett Leason scored his first career NHL goal and Conor Sheary hit once for the Capitals, who had amassed at least one point in their first eight games this season (5-0-3).

Vitek Vanecek ended the game with 23 saves for the Capitals.

Alex Ovechkin saw his streak of games with at least one run stop at eight. The Capitals captain remained two goals behind Brett Hull (741) and fourth in history in this regard.

Killorn and Cirelli put the needle on in the second period, allowing the Lightning to take a 2-1 lead. Point scored the eventual game winner at 2:56 of the third period.
