In the Kherson region, Ukrainian troops continue their slow advance on the front. The liberated towns show the ravages of war and the inhabitants still live in fear.
In the early morning, rescuers discover a gutted building in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. Beneath the ruins are several people, including an 11-year-old child, miraculously alive. The rescuers carefully manage to extricate the boy from the rubble, of which he remained prisoner for more than six hours. Very moved, his father kisses him. With a gesture, the child points to the sky: a missile has fallen. The night before, the Russians had heavily shelled this major port city near the southern front.
On this front, the Ukrainians are slowly continuing their advance. The city of Kherson is their target. In their retreat, the Russians abandon their ammunition. A sign, according to the Ukrainian soldiers, of their disarray. “The fact that they left the shells, scattering only part of the powder, shows that they fled very quickly“, smiles one of them. In the reconquered villages, the same images of destruction are repeated. The inhabitants are still dazed by months of war, which sometimes deprived them of their home.
