The homophobic chants sung by Rennes supporters on Sunday against Nantes will be examined on Thursday October 5 by the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP).
In the 21st minute of the match counting for the 7th day of the French Ligue 1 championship, ultras from the Roazhon Celtic Kop resumed homophobic chants targeting the people of Nantes in general, and in particular Matthis Abline, a former Rennes player loaned this been to the Nantes club, which did not appear on the match sheet.
The commission will take up this case on Thursday but may not summon the Rennes club until next week. For similar chants during PSG-Marseille, the leaders of Paris Saint-Germain were summoned on Thursday, as were four of their players (Achraf Hakimi, Layvin Kurzawa, Ousmane Dembélé and Randol Kolo Muani), who had sung offensive homophobic chants towards the Marseillais.
