Twenty years after Monaco, Bordeaux and Marseille, France finally finds three representatives in the quarter-final of the European Cup. Faced with this historic situation, the LFP decided, Thursday March 21, to modify the programming of the 29th day of Ligue 1, which will precede the quarter-final first leg. Where the six other Ligue 1 matches will be held on the weekend of April 13-14, the matches between Lorient and Paris as well as Monaco and Lille will take place on Wednesday April 24 at 7 p.m., two hours before the match between Marseille and Nice. .

Football constitutes a national flagship and, through the performances of clubs at European level, it allows France to shine internationally.“, justified the LFP via the Ligue 1 website. The three clubs concerned will thus be able to benefit from ten days to prepare for their European quarter-final. Paris will face FC Barcelona, Marseille will face Benfica, and Lille will challenge Aston Villa.
