Warner Studios is a hundred years old. The producers of films like Citizen Kane, Batman or the Harry Potter saga sit at the foot of Hollywood.

Its two yellow letters on a blue background and its credits, recognizable from the first notes, are legendary. It was founded by four brothers, the Warners. It was the first studio to launch into talking films, then to use the Technicolor process. “They made films of their time but which were always avant-garde, they always sought to be at the cutting edge”explains archivist and historian Georges Feltenstein.

Superheroes in the spotlight

Harley Queen, the Joker, Batman, it is also the first studio to revive the fashion for superheroes who are now on all screens. In the archives, all Batman costumes and masks are originals. “Batman is still relevant, he’s a person who is suffering but trying to get through it”, confides Georges Feltenstein. The mobile bats are also kept, they are worth millions of dollars. Barbie, released in cinemas this summer, marks the revival of Warner Brothers, it is the most profitable film in the history of the studio with more than a billion dollars in revenue.
