The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concert, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band

The top ? May be. Definitely a dizzying spike in Springsteen’s chain of E Street outlets. Not strictly speaking a Bruce party, but a double participation in the series of ” Muse Concerts for A Non-Nuclear Future “Titled No Nukes. Shortened shows, seen the poster stuffed with pacifist troubadours. Springsteen and his family therefore flanked Madison Square Garden a condensed version of their usual marathons. Crazy challenge: the strike force of three hours in 90 minutes (two CDs + DVDs). We knew by heart the extracts provided in the documentary No Nukes and the triple album of the same name. It was already exhausting. There, we have everything, insanely everything. Final versions of Badlands, of The Promised Land, of Jungleland, the brand new Sherry Darling, and until the last callback without appeal: Rave On, from Buddy Holly to the superlative. A rock’n’roll salvo that didn’t save the world, but gave more energy than all the atomic batteries put together.
