After the withdrawal of Adrien Quatennens, Aurélien Le Coq was nominated candidate of the New Popular Front in the 1st constituency of the North for the legislative elections. He will notably have to face Amy Bah, a dissident left-wing candidate who assumes not to withdraw.
This is the constituency which earned the New Popular Front its first controversy. In question, the candidacy of Adrien Quatennens, outgoing deputy, finally forced to withdraw. In the 1st district of the North, two left-wing candidates will notably face off in the legislative elections, one nominated by the New Popular Front, Aurélien Le Coq, and Amy Bah, a dissident candidate who promises not to withdraw.
“There is courage to be had. I am not a politician, I do not know this environment. I am an activist, and when we campaign, it is for convictions”, says Amy Bah. A situation that the presidential majority candidate, Vanessa Duhamel, intends to take advantage of, who is calling for a rally around her candidacy. “We think there is indeed room for moderates between two blocs that are completely extremist”she says.
