A family coronation. Alexis and Félix Lebrun were crowned French doubles table tennis champions on Saturday March 23, in front of their audience in Montpellier, a first together for the two brothers.

The siblings had to go through a decisive fifth set to win against their training partners in Hérault, Florian Bourrassaud and Esteban Dorr 3-2 (7-11, 11-4, 9-11, 11- 8, 11-6).

“This is the first time that‘we play together at the French Senior Championships and we win, it’s wonderful’reacted Félix Lebrun, 17 years old and world number 5, a first for a French table tennis player in almost thirty years and the reference Jean-Philippe Gatien in 1995.

If each of the Lebrun brothers had already been crowned in France in doubles, they had never been crowned together. In 2021, the eldest Alexis won with Esteban Dorr. Then Félix succeeded him the following year alongside Laurent Cova.
