Case closed. The law commission of the National Assembly voted, Wednesday, April 5, the classification of the petition for the dissolution of the Brav-M, this Parisian unit accused of police violence during the demonstrations against the pension reform. This text, deposited on the site of the National Assembly, had collected 263,887 signatures. It will not be the subject of a parliamentary debate.

This classification closes the petition, which will not have had time to collect 500,000 signatures, the threshold from which the Conference of Presidents of the Assembly can decide to organize a debate in public session. Before this classification, nine deputies from La France insoumise had regretted this early examination. “We solemnly ask you to postpone the date of this decision (…) and in any case to wait for the deadline for collecting signatures set for June 15 to judge the relevance of the examination or the classification of the said petition “, they wrote to the president of the law commission Sacha Houlié. After the classification, one of the signatories, Ugo Bernalicis, shouts at the “scandal”.

This petition demanded the dissolution of the Brav-M, “one of the symbols of police violence”. “Far from ensuring a return to appeasement, its action contributes to the increase in tensions, including against the police”says its author.
