THE stream Laval resident Félix Lengyel – known under the pseudonym of xQc – has just signed an agreement of 100 million US with the Kick platform.
This is a blow for the Twitch platform, of which he was one of the most important stars, reported Friday the New York Times. Félix Lengyel, 27, notably announced on Twitter his transfer to Kick early Friday evening, in a two-minute video.
The star of live content has signed a 70 million US contract with this new platform, which could rise to 100 million with bonuses, his agent told the American media.
Such a contract will shake up the world of online entertainment, predicts the New York Times.
Félix Lengyel became known for his exploits within electronic sports teams specializing in a shooting game, Overwatch. He was the most followed content creator on Twitch in 2020 and 2021, according to the American business magazine Forbes. Up to 11 million people follow his videos online, despite controversial comments about homophobic, racist or sexually explicit content, according to Forbes.
