In Reims (Marne), the last drugstore in the city, a local business that provides services, is not going to close immediately. The retirement of its manager is postponed for a year to the delight of the inhabitants of the district.
In Reims (Marne), the drugstore has been a family business for over 50 years. Florence Sipili, the manager, bought this business from her parents in 1990. After 32 years of good service, the hour of retirement has come, but Florence has not yet started the process. “I had a good year in 2021, I worked well. The customers were asking me so much (…) I was not ready to leave either”, she says.
Customers are very attached to this shop and so is Florence’s grandson. He lends a hand to his grandmother when her school is closed due to Covid-19. “I do the parcels, I try to learn a little about the products, I do the checkout. It’s fun”, he says. Customers follow one another and all seek advice from Florence, because she knows her products like the back of her hand.
