The last hours of the late Linda de Suza told…

The most popular of Portuguese artists has left… mourning her host country, France. This Wednesday, December 28, a press release posted on social networks announced the sad news: “His son Joäo Lança and I (Fabien Lecoeuvre, press officer, editor’s note) have the pain to inform you of the death, this morning at 10:10 a.m., from Linda de Suza”, could we soberly read. To our colleagues from “Parisien”, her agent and guardian for a year, made a point of specifying: “She had been hospitalized at the end of August, she was dehydrated and anemic, she forgot to eat, no longer ate, she had lost a lot weight. I saw her last Saturday. She was fine, she had been in a convalescent home since and was recovering slowly (…) She had only had one vaccine. She had lung problems. She was a heavy smoker, she consumed between two and three packs of cigarettes a day.

“She wanted me to place her in a convent”

Fabien Lecoeuvre also confided on the airwaves of “BFMTV” that the artist “was unfortunately ill for a few weeks, a few months. She had this form of respiratory failure and she caught the Covid in her retirement home where she was. And she was transferred this morning, a little late in my opinion, even if the rest of the hospital staff were wonderful at Gisors hospital. And to add: “Her transfer this morning was made at 8 a.m. and she left us at 10:10 a.m..” A death that nevertheless raises questions. Because, as our colleagues from “France Dimanche” claim, Linda de Suza would have found herself in respiratory failure during the two days preceding her death. Why didn’t you transfer it sooner? “For lack of space, it was impossible to have her hospitalized in the service which could have helped her … until Wednesday morning, but, alas, too late”, can we read in the weekly. A tragic end that upsets the fans of this popular singer who will have sold 20 million albums and who had touched the hearts of the French by publishing her best-selling autobiography “La Valise en carton” in 1988. Last regret of her press officer ? Not having been able to carry out the last wishes of the singer. At the microphone of “CNews”, the latter indeed confided: “She told me again last week that she wanted to leave. She wanted me to place her in a convent, to have a religious retreat, and end her life like that. Unfortunately, I did not have time since the disease was stronger. Having become very religious, Linda de Suza “made her prayers every two hours.” All our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.
