The animalist association L214 has announced that it is filing a complaint with the prosecutor of the Saint-Brieuc judicial court for mistreatment, after the broadcast of two videos shot in two farms in Côtes-d’Armor, one of pigs and the other of rabbits , reports France Bleu Armorique and France Bleu Breizh Izel on Friday, February 25.
The first video shows “piglets hit against a wall”others “agonizing” or “sows in cages”. The images were shot in a pig farm in Saint-Glen, in the Côtes-d’Armor.
The association also denounces the responsibility of “intensive farming” in the proliferation of green algae in the region, as a press release explains: “the breeding, member of the Cooperl, is close to a tributary of the Gouessant which flows into the bay of Saint-Brieuc where the beach of Granville is located, closed because of the dangerousness of the algae for more than seven months”.
The second video, which from the very first seconds calls on the candidates to position themselves on animal suffering, this time pinpoints a rabbit farm located in Langoat, “one of the biggest farms in France”, according to L214. We see there “living rabbits in the trash”from “newborn babies in agony”.
These two new videos are part of a series of surveys published before the opening of the Agricultural Show, to encourage presidential candidates to take a stand against intensive farming.
