(Boston) The Seattle Kraken will host the 2024 Winter Classic, the NHL announced Monday.
This meeting will take place on 1er January 2024 at T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners, and will pit the Kraken against the Vegas Golden Knights, the league said.
This will be Seattle’s first outdoor game, and it will be between the two most recent franchises to join the NHL. The time of this duel will be announced at a later date.
The Kraken are playing their second season in the NHL, after becoming the 32e dealership to join in 2021-22.
Additionally, the Washington State roster will become the 29e NHL team to take part in a regular season game outdoors. This will be the Golden Knights’ second appearance at such an event, following the outdoor game against the Colorado Avalanche in Lake Tahoe on February 20, 2021.
Also, the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals will play in the 2023 NHL Stadium Series at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina on February 18.
The NHL also announced Saturday that the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers will face off in the Heritage Classic at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on Oct. 29.
