(Seattle) The Seattle Kraken acquired defenseman Jaycob Megna from the San Jose Sharks on Sunday in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft.
Megna is currently playing her best season, having tallied 12 points in 48 games with the Sharks. The defenseman has averaged over 19 minutes of ice time per game so far.
“Jaycob has shown through his play this season that he can be a reliable and responsible defenseman in all situations,” Kraken general manager Ron Francis said. He will bring depth to our defensive group and we are happy to have him join us. »
At six-foot-six and 220 pounds, Megna will add size and bulk to her new roster. He also ranked fifth on the Sharks in blocked shots and hits.
Megna previously played with the Anaheim Ducks between 2016 and 2019. His 48 games played this year are a personal high for the 30-year-old defenseman.
