The film “Bob Marley: One Love” will be released in theaters on February 14. It is produced and directed by his son, Ziggy, who wanted to reveal the underbelly of the life of the king of reggae.

The life of Bob Marley is brought to the screen for the first time. At the Grand Rex in Paris, an evening was organized, in the presence of his son Ziggy and the entire film team. “I have seen other concerts, but Bob, that will remain engraved. (…) My life is Bob Marley”, testifies a woman. Beyond his hits, such as “Redemption Song”, one of his last songs, the film traces the life of Bob Marley in the late 1970s, when his native Jamaica was facing a gang war.

Died of cancer at just 36 years old

British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir was chosen to play the artist. “No need to understand all his words, the music speaks for itself. Bob said: it’s a question of feeling. He dedicated his life to his art.” At the end of the screening, a spectator confided having “nearly cried”. Bob Marley was only 36 when he died of cancer in 1981, but his music continues to inspire people.
