The King of England, Charles III, has cancer, Buckingham Palace announces

The type of cancer he suffers from has not been revealed but it is specified in a press release that it is not prostate cancer.

The King of England, Charles III, is suffering from cancer, Buckingham Palace announced Monday February 5 in a press release. The sovereign “will continue to perform his official duties, but will refrain from public engagement during his treatment”which started.

“During the recent hospital intervention of the king [fin janvier] for benign prostatic hypertrophy, a separate problem was noted”. Of the “subsequent tests identified a form of cancer”, it is explained.

The type of cancer he suffers from has not been revealed but it is clarified that it is not prostate cancer. The press release assures that the king “remains entirely positive about his treatment and hopes to return to public duty as soon as possible.”

“I have no doubt that he will come back in great shape”

In the wake of the royal family’s press release, Rishi Sunak, British Prime Minister, wished a “speedy and full recovery” to Charles III. “I have no doubt he will be back to full fitness in no time and I know the whole country wishes him the best,” he wrote on X.

“On behalf of Londoners, I wish Her Majesty a speedy and full recovery”declared for his part the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on the same social network.

Humza Yousaf, First Minister of Scotland, expressed his “thoughts” And “prayers” to Charles III and his family in what will be “a worrying time for them all”. Mark Drakeford, Welsh Prime Minister, assures that his “Thoughts, as well as those of people across Wales, will be with him and his family this evening.”
