The 12-year-old child, for whom the kidnapping alert was triggered this Saturday morning, was found unharmed, franceinfo learned from a police source. His father was arrested and taken into custody by the North Judicial Police Department, said the Béthune prosecutor’s office in a press release.
The father and son were found at 10 am in Salaumines, 5 km from the place of the kidnapping, in the suburb of Lens, still in Pas-de-Calais. They were with the father’s sister, according to a franceinfo police source.
The 40-year-old man had kidnapped his son on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m., going to visit him at the nursery assistant where he was placed in Fouquières-lès-Lens, in Pas-de-Calais. The 12-year-old hugged him and they both left, without violence. The kidnapping alert was triggered this Saturday morning at 5.45 a.m. but was lifted at 10 a.m.
