Eight years since Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé released anything new. Is that why they worked hard from the start? Justice published Wednesday evening January 24 not one, but two tracks, taken from his next album called Hyperdrama, announced for April 26.
As is often the case, the Parisian tandem plays here on the contrast of electro brutality and funky disco roundness, even melancholy. But the novelty is to have invited a guest of choice into his lair at the microphone. The first single One Night/All Night is indeed illuminated by the voice of Kevin Parker, the singer of Tame Impala. “The idea of the piece was to make disco and hardcore techno coexist, but in turn”explains the group. “We move from one to the other in an abrupt and yet fluid way. It served as a template for many of the songs on the record.” A haunting song accompanied by a music video, which resembles the inner exploration of a human body. At the helm, director Anton Tammi, known in particular for his numerous videos for The Weeknd.
Unveiled immediately, the cover (below) signed Thomas Jumin also plays on both the group’s familiar logo, the cross, and on transparency, since we see through it for the first time. What it contains also resembles human shapes like ribs and vertebrae.
As for the second piece revealed, the aggressive generator, it hums like in the early days of the duo and we can see from here how this title will blend perfectly into the mix with their classics on stage. The group, known for its explosive and dancing lives, has also planned to go and play this album on the road without delay.
