Apolline de Malherbe will no longer be a substitute. Indeed, the journalist who officiates at the morning of RMC should become incumbent for the next few years. The reason ? Jean-Jacques Bourdin will no longer take his place and will no longer work for RMC Where BFM-TV. It was the Altice Media group, itself, which announced the news through a press release this Friday, June 17.
“Due to the events that occurred and were brought to the attention of management during 2022, Altice Media has decided to terminate Mr. Jean-Jacques Bourdin’s employment contract and thus cease all collaboration”announced the group which had opened an internal investigation in mid-January, after learning “through the press” that the journalist was the subject of a complaint for “sexual assault”. However, he won the “case” on April 7 when the case was closed for “prescription of public action” as confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office.
Jean-Jacques Bourdin was just waiting for this?
A few days after being cleared, Jean-Jacques Bourdin took the floor on his social networks to post an intriguing message which suggested a quick return to television: “‘When will we see you again?’ I am asked this question very often in the street. This morning again when going to vote. I invariably answer ‘soon’…” But by assuring that his fans would find him “soon”, the journalist was probably not referring to RMC.
Indeed, he was fired by the group this Friday, June 17 and this dismissal seems to act as a release for him as evidenced by his strange reaction on Twitter, a few hours after the announcement. “21 years of success on #RMC #BFMTV #RMCD. We are separating, I am so happy to be released, I am leaving for new adventures and I will never forget those who accompanied me.. long live the free and independent journalism!!”he wrote, apparently very relieved.
