The Winnipeg Jets traded forward Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings for three forwards and a 2024 second-round pick.
Dubois was a restricted free agent. He just finished a one-year contract with Manitoba.
The Kings immediately signed him to an eight-year contract worth US$68 million, averaging $8.5 million per season.
The 25-year-old Dubois had 63 points, including 27 goals, in 73 games last season, his second straight season of 60 or more points.
He was the third overall pick in the 2016 draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, who traded him to the Jets along with a third-round pick for Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic in 2021.
This time, the Jets get forwards Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari and Gabriel Vilardi.
