The Jacques-Cartier Bridge closed due to a demonstration

(Montreal) The Jacques-Cartier Bridge, one of the main axes of traffic between Montreal and the South Shore, was closed to traffic in both directions during the morning rush hour, Thursday morning, due to the presence of demonstrators.

Around 7 a.m., the communications department of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) confirmed the information, which it had just learned. She was unable to say whether an intervention was imminent and, if so, what type.

The reason for the demonstration had not been announced as of 7 a.m., but images taken from the bridge showed people waving Palestinian flags.
