It is because demand has continued to increase in recent weeks that the “J’accueille” platform has decided to set up in Marseille in a context where many Ukrainian refugees fleeing their country at war hope to have a roof to put down their suitcases for a few months. Significant demand from homes likely to host refugees and refugees themselves. “J’accueille” is a very simple device that allows you to “recruit” hosts and put them in touch with their future guests.
In Marseille today several hundred people are ready to open their doors, says David Robert, general manager of Singa France. Welcoming refugees is not a wish that should be taken lightly, so the platform offers a precise questionnaire on the profile of the hosts, their lifestyle, their availability: “We want the reception to take place in the best conditions” emphasizes David Robert. Everything is very precise and in the agreement: the duration of the reception, for example, which must be at least three months.
We do nothing but welcome. All the administration, for example, is managed by the associations. Not everyone is a social worker. what we want are welcoming families. Human warmth, not problems – David Robert
The platform also wishes to ensure that “welcoming-welcoming” professional profiles come together: “if you are a teacher, the idea is to welcome someone who wants to work in education” explains David Robert. The people welcomed must also participate in the financing of their meal: “the host does not have to provide cover even if it is recommended to share at least one meal a week to allow contact and integration and to develop a form of friendship, but the person hosted must be autonomous”.
If you would like to volunteer, you can go to the “J’accueille.fr” platform and fill out the questionnaire.
