While the war has been raging in Gaza for 8 months now, the fighting is intensifying. Despite calls from several countries, including France, the Israeli army continues its attacks on Rafah and Jabaliya.
A house was pulverized in the middle of the night: only a huge pile of rubble remains after the Israeli raid launched at 3 a.m. on a building. The latter was located in the Palestinian refugee camp of Nousseirat, in the center of the Gaza Strip. “No one expected this, it’s a quiet area and all the residents are civilians”deplores Yasser Abou Oula, resident in Nousseirat.
On the morning of Sunday May 19, victims were still arriving at the hospital. According to local authorities, the death toll stands at 31 dead and several injured. A man is in shock: “I lost my grandmother, my uncle and my aunt in this barbaric attack. They are civilians, what did they do wrong?”. If this attack was perpetrated in Nousseirat, the Israeli army continues its offensive to the north, in Jabaliya, and to the south, in Rafah. They claim to have eliminated around fifty terrorists during the day of May 18.
