The Israeli army again bombed Lebanon on the night of Friday October 4 to Saturday October 6. The strikes targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut, where Hezbollah is based, but also the north of the country in Tripoli, where a raid was carried out against a Palestinian refugee camp. A leader of the armed wing of Hamas was killed there.
A thick cloud of smoke rises from the southern suburbs of Beirut, the new Israeli bombardments having been carried out early in the morning. The days and nights follow one another and are similar in the neighborhoods made into strongholds by Hezbollah and deserted by the inhabitants. A dozen strikes took place after midnight on buildings linked to the Shiite militia.
For the first time, Israel carried out strikes in northern Lebanon, in the Tripoli region. The target was a Palestinian leader of Hamas’ military wing. In southern Lebanon, where the Israelis are trying to carry out incursions, fighting continues on the ground and in the air. Israelis claim to have killed 250 Hezbollah commanders. For two weeks, the conflict has left more than 1,000 dead and thousands injured. According to the UN, a million Lebanese are now displaced.
