The Israeli army announces that it has taken over the “fights” against Hamas, Friday December 1, due to lack of an agreement on an extension of the truce. Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip intercepted. The anti-aircraft defense system has “successfully intercepted a shot from the Gaza Strip”announced the Israeli army in a message to the press, shortly before the expiration of the truce with Hamas.
New releases. Six Israeli hostages were released during the night by Hamas, after two others during the day – including Franco-Israeli Mia Schem – and returned to Israel. In the process, Israel released thirty Palestinians, all women and minors held in Israeli prisons, in accordance with the agreement.
Many more hostages. The truce has so far enabled the release of 80 Israeli hostages, women and children, and 240 Palestinian prisoners. Around twenty foreigners or dual nationals, mostly Thais working in Israel, were also released outside the framework of the agreement. The Israeli military estimated that around 240 people were taken hostage.
