Corsica is known for its beautiful landscapes, but is probably much less so for its spa treatments. And yet, they are particularly appreciated and have unsuspected virtues.
This is not necessarily the region you would first think of for a spa treatment. And yet, Corsica is home to natural resources that date back to antiquity. They are very effective in treating skin diseases such as eczema. It is also a wealth that is too little exploited today. But some inhabitants and mayors of municipalities dream of restoring Corsica to its status as a flagship of hydrotherapy.
Fabrice Balland, director of Sapone Nustrale, launched a business of soaps made from thermal water. “It feels so good. People want it because it’s been known for generations and generations”, he assures. He sells about 50 soaps a day. A development of the economy around the springs, which exist in other Corsican towns and villages.
