The investigation targeting the secretary ofEtat in charge of Development Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, relating to two complaints for rape and a complaint for violence, was dismissed, learned Tuesday April 4 franceinfo from the Paris prosecutor’s office, confirming information from BFMTV.

The Paris prosecutor’s office had opened an investigation in May 2022, after the filing of two rape complaints against the secretary ofEtat. A third complaint for violence had been filed in June 2022. The alleged acts had taken place, according to the complainants, when Chrysoula Zacharopoulou was practicing as a gynecologist.
“The serious accusations against me, relating to medical clinical examinations carried out in order to diagnose and treat the illness of my patients, are unacceptable and revolting”she said in June 2022 through her lawyer.

Eelected MEP in 2019 on the Renaissance list, Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, 46, has been appointed secretary ofEtat in May 2022 during Emmanuel Macron’s second election as President of the Republic. She is recognized as one of the specialists in France on the subject of endometriosis, a subject on which she has been involved for years.
