The Paris prosecutor’s office told AFP, Wednesday, October 12, the classification without follow-up in August “for lack of a sufficiently serious offence”of his investigation opened at the end of 2018, for suspicions of ethnic registration at Paris-Saint-Germain, confirming information from Le Monde.

The case dates back to November 2018, when a collective of European media had indicated mentions of ethnic criteria in the evaluation sheets of young players. The latter were categorized as “French”, “Maghrebi”, “Caribbean”, or even “African”.

In January 2019, the Professional Football League (LFP) sentenced PSG to a fine of 100,000 euros, without retaining any “discriminate”while thehe preliminary investigation had notably been opened for discrimination based on origin, ethnicity or nationality.
