The investigation for “illegal taking of interests” and “failure to report to the High Authority for the transparency of public life” (HATVP) which targeted Sébastien Lecornu was dismissedannounced Friday, June 30 the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF). The investigation, opened in 2019, was closed after the Minister of the Armed Forces accepted to reimburse the disputed €7,874 in chips.

In his statement to the HATVP, the minister mentioned having been a director of the Société des autoroutes Paris Normandie (SAPN) between July 2016 and June 2017, and having received a total of 7,874 euros gross in “attendance fees” in this capacity. . A post which he is suspected of having used to promote the interests of the SAPN, to which the State has entrusted the management of the motorways in the region.

“No element has established that Sébastien Lecornu had sought to uphold the interests of the SAPN on those of the departmental council of Eure”finally estimated the PNF.
