The International Jazz Festival unveils its program

The Roots, Tash Sultana, Pink Martini, Robert Glasper and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats are among the headliners of 42and Montreal International Jazz Festival (FIJM) which unveiled its lineup on Tuesday.

From June 30 to July 9, more than 350 shows will be presented in the city, nearly two-thirds of which will be offered free of charge on outdoor stages. Among these are Mélissa Laveaux, CRi, Kamasi Washington, Lee Fields and Corine Bailey Rea.

Ahi, They Call Me Rico, Tash Sultana, Tobi and The Roots are also expected on the outdoor stages for the kick-off and closing of the 42and FIJM edition.

In theaters, Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi will present his only solo show of his North American tour at Maison symphonique on July 2, in addition to giving two other concerts with his group on July 3 and 4 at Place des Arts, while Ranee Lee will present a reinterpretation of Céline Dion’s songs, jazz style, at the Monument-National, on July 9.

Jean-Michel Blais, who had already made the announcement, will be in concert at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier on July 9. Dominique Fils-Aimé and Basia Bulat will perform respectively on July 3 and July 8 at Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts, Arooj Aftab and LÉON will perform at Club Soda, while Woodkid, Alicia Moffet and Masego will perform at MTelus.

More names will be announced later this spring.

Tickets for the indoor concerts go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. However, subscribers to the newsletter will be able to access the presale as of March 31, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
