It will be the final highlight of the Place de la Liberation stage this Friday, August 26, 2022: Etienne de Crécy will mix the time of a set, from 11:30 p.m. in Dijon. This is his first back-to-school concert, an acceptance he accepted mainly for the atmosphere. But the city is not totally unknown to the international DJ who spent part of his childhood there. He also mixed there for an evening at An-Fer, a benchmark electronic club in Dijon which closed its doors in 2002.

In fact, Etienne de Crécy spent part of his childhood in Dijon : “between my 6 months and my 6 years I think, but I don’t have many memories. I remember that the shutters of the house were burgundy but that’s about all”. There is also his former kindergarten, Boulevard du Maréchal Joffre in Dijon. “It’s true that I haven’t kept any ties to Dijon”says the DJ.
Yet he comes back years later as a pioneer artist of the French Touch for a promotional evening at An-Feran emblematic Dijon club of the late 1990s. An evening he does not remember much… “It’s a very important club, I’ve heard a lot about it, so I feel like I played there, but I suddenly have doubts”. Especially since the media of the time do not remember this passage, yet confirmed by the programmer of An-Fer at the time, Christian Allex. It was a “Super discount” evening named after his album released in 1997… 25 years ago! Hence the confusion of the DJ who prefers to have fun: “perhaps you will have listeners who will remember this evening. It would hurt me a little to know that my memory is also failing”.
The Dijon public to discover
If the An-Fer is not unknown to him, it is however his first back-to-school concert. An invitation that Etienne de Crécy accepted with pleasure : “I rarely refuse, and then it’s great! The programming is great, and the place looks good. I like it when it’s festive, downtown and free, usually there’s always a good atmosphere.” As for the content of the set, we will have to wait until Friday 11:30 p.m.: “I don’t know yet! It’s a dialogue with the public, so I’ll adapt according to the atmosphere, the motivation of people, we’ll see.” A Dijon public that the DJ will discover: “it will be a surprise, maybe there will be people from my class [de maternelle. ndlr]”.
