It’s back to school also for the inter-age university of Dauphiné (UAD)! These courses for adults or children who had been greatly disrupted throughout the Covid period due to masks, protocols and gauges. This year – a priori – without health restrictions should allow a return to normal for this associative structure. There were 6,800 members in 2019. It fell to around 5,000 during the Covid and the confinements. Cédric Mazzone is the director and he is optimistic.
We feel that there have been changes in behavior
“What is important is to say that the UAD is always present and that it makes it possible to find teaching activities, cultural activities, discovery, to do internships and to resume a life together. We feel that there has been a change because people have sometimes changed their lifestyles and we can understand that! I was happy to see the employees again, but the UAD is above all people who, after an Italian course, can find themselves in Rome, in a restaurant for example! they don’t just create courses, they also create trips, friendships, and people also meet outside.” Do you perhaps want to see people who, out of caution, stayed at home, behind their screen or behind their mask? “Of course, this is something we are looking forward to. Finding members who were there last year and those who were there two or three years ago. The door is wide open.” Are there people who have said to you: “we are afraid to come back”? “We knew in 2020 and 2021 that people did not want to come back for simple health reasons. Not to mingle with a large number of other people, that we understood. This year, we are restarting in more normal, more serene conditions, knowing that we pay great attention to the ventilation of the premises at all sites.”
Registrations already open!
This association is a bit of a symbol of these associative structures which are starting up again but slowly, and with a real challenge in terms of membership this year. The inter-age university of Dauphiné has forty employees and also employs forty service providers. Registration is open in all subjects and classes resume between mid and late September.
