2,000 people take the train from this station every day
Elected officials particularly deplore the removal of 15 regional trains two years ago, which previously stopped every day at Templeuve-en-Pévèle station. “Eight years ago, we had four trains per hour at Templeuve, explains Luc Monnet, the mayor of the town, who is at the origin of the mobilization. Today, with these cuts, we have gone to two trains per hour. It may seem rather anecdotal. But for the hundreds of thousands of passengers who take the train daily, it is a real pain having to go to Lille or Valenciennes. “ According to the municipality, more than 2,000 people take the TER from this station every day.
Another subject of grievances: late and untimely train cancellations. On the day of the mobilization, five train departures were canceled before nine o’clock. “It’s daily, explains Laurence, who takes the TER every day at Templeuve. Lately, it happens once or twice a day, at the start and at the finish. And it creates stress because you never know what’s going to happen. “
70% of the inhabitants of Templeuve work outside the municipality
“At a time when we have to evolve by leaving the car at home, we are not accompanied by the SNCF to ensure that everyone can access the metropolis or the Valenciennes region to be able to go to their place of work, to their place of school or university “, explains the mayor. According to him, better service to the city is essential, while 70% of the inhabitants of the town work outside, including 50% in the Lille metropolitan area.
