The inflation rate increased by 7.7% in May

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 7.7% year over year in May in Canada, up from the 6.8% inflation increase recorded in april.

Statistics Canada indicates that the acceleration of growth in May was mainly attributable to the increase in gasoline prices, which rose 12% compared to the previous month.
