Last September, Aëlia, a little girl aged three months, suffered a cardiac arrest. Guided by the relief on the phone, his mother, Ivy Dagnino, tried to give him cardiac massage. After a few minutes, a man came to their home. “A black car crashed in front of the house, and it was Guillaume who got out. I understood that he was a professional, but he arrived at the house in flip-flops,” she says.
A first aid app
Guillaume is a caregiver. He received an alert on his phone. A cardiac arrest 1km from home. His actions saved Aëlia’s life. “I put myself in robot mode, I said to myself, I have to go there while waiting for the relief“, he said. He was connected to the “Staying alive” application, connected to the fire and SAMU switchboard in 80 departments. It warns registered individuals. Those trained in emergency procedures first relief intervene as a priority. The application has nearly 300,000 subscribers.
