Explorer and ambassador of clean technologies, President of the Solar Impulse Foundation, Bertrand Piccard drew a lot of inspiration from members of his family. His grandfather Auguste in particular invented the hydrogen balloon in 1931. 30 years later, Jacques, the father of Bertrand Piccard, became known through an expedition and a diving record with his submarine capable of reaching the abyss. For his part, after two attempts, Bertrand Piccard achieved a feat in 1999: to go around the world in a balloon. All in 19 days, 21 hours and 47 minutes. In 2015, he participated in the creation of the Solar Impulse, an aircraft powered only by solar energy. He made a new round-the-world trip without refueling or stopover.
Recently, the explorer broke the world record for the distance covered with a hydrogen car: 800 kilometers.
