At the beginning of autumn, in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in Corrèze, the Covid-19 is again talking about it. For some, the All Saints’ Day holidays begin in front of the medical analysis laboratory. “On Saturday, we had an aperitif and there were six of us around the table. Unfortunately, one of us saw that he was a positive case”, testifies a resident of Brive-la-Gaillarde who is waiting to be tested.
For two weeks, especially among children, screenings are on the rise. “We test a lot from childhood and often, it is because they are ‘contact case’ of a positive case in a school or in a sports club”, reports Sandrine Leluc, biologist in the Corrèze department. In Brive-la-Gaillarde, three weeks after the end of wearing the compulsory mask for children under 12, nine classes of primary schools had to close. The incidence rate reached in Corrèze 73 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a trend observed in around forty departments.
